"I created Growing Up as my final university project when I was 19. I was inspired by my diaries I kept from the age of 11, They had years worth of memories, stories, and emotions I experienced through childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The Project was to turn these stories into Photographic Series which soon bled into stories of people around me, my culture and my identity. I did series related to family and The Chinese Upbringing which I felt was so challenging yet interesting, stories on Chinese Mentality and work, the beauty behind our food and culture. In all it was an expression of my past as well as an expression of so many others stories.

In The present moment this project has been the driving force of me saying goodbye to Fashion Photography being my main focus and art photography being my new main focus. With Projects such as Coming Out In China, Girls of China, and Dinner Thoughts with Mother Lam, My photography now comes from a personal point, which I hope can connect and bring people together in the future."
