Give me a 🙌 if you agree! We may be isolated in our homes trying to contain the spread of the coronavirus, but our creativity can’t be contained. 💥
What if you don’t feel creative right now? I feel you. When the shelter-in-place order first began, I was so drained and overwhelmed from everything that I wasn’t feeling creative at all. 😞 My mind felt blank, and any excitement for art was depleted.
But looking back at the first weeks, I realized I need to shift my perspective. Being “creative” isn’t just drawing and making art. It also includes turning to other hobbies (baking or raising new plants, anyone? 🍞🌿), making other kinds of content, journaling to let the feelings flow out, reading, taking classes, and taking a break from it all. 😎
Eventually, new ideas start to flow in. 💫 Maybe even better ones because you’re engaged in different experiences.⚡️
I guess that’s to say, whether you have more time on your hands and are contributing to the amazing and uniquely relatable work that’s been coming out this season, or you’re stepping back to rest and try other things, your creativity is not and cannot be contained. It just may come out in different ways than you expected. 🙌
